    Jay Buchan
Jay loves working with clients to capture their stories. Since the days of film photography, she had a passion to tell stories. This has grown into not only working as a professional photographer but also as a photography tutor.

To her, passing on skills and knowledge to others who love photography to get the best out of themselves and their equipment is a joy. It's first and foremost about helping people improve by only competing with themselves to get better and enjoy their photography journey more. So tell her what your passion in photography is and she'll help on the way to amazing images.

I created a 1 m square and piled in flower seeds from several mixture packets. Then I photographed the flowers where they grew - without any pruning or removing or clearing: I had to shoot them in Aberdeenshire weather. That is why I used a relatively high ISO and also a wide aperture. The latter of course also reduced background distraction and enabled a fast shutterspeed . Overall this meant that, with a tripod, I could do in camera focus bracketting of up to 100 focus points. Canon EOS R6m2,

Because I shoot the flowers in the garden shutter-speed need sto be high or focus stacking won't work. I use a wide-open aperture to a mximise background blurring. Title or Location: a Potterton garden, Aberdeenshire
I planted 1 m sq of my garden with 4 different packets of bee-friendly flowers in April and had months of beautiful flowers (still!). This sunflower flowered quite late and during a rainy period, but a 100-focus point in-camera stack after one of the named storms, early in the morning before going to work, showed one soggy face of the sunflower's beauty. The trick is to try and find a composition that lets the subject breath - leaving the lens wide open and having a high shutter speed helps in
